Dream Big.
No Limits.
Empowering kids with Type 1 Diabetes through sport, movement, and community.
Mission
To empower kids living with Type 1 Diabetes by building confidence, connection, and community through sport, movement, and mentorship…one interactive community meetup at a time.
As a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, we empower young athletes to believe that T1D doesn’t limit their potential, it’s simply part of their story.
Each event brings encouragement, connection, and a sense of belonging, reminding every child that they can play every sport, chase every goal, and live every adventure.
At T1D Allstars, we live by one powerful mantra:
Dream Big, No Limits.
- All skill levels and first-timers welcome!
- Learn from skilled coaches, and connect with others who understand
- Parent Peace of Mind: while kids play, parents connect in casual, supportive conversations
- No Pressure: try different sports with no commitment
- Peer Leadership: volunteer & mentor opportunities for T1D teens 15+

What is T1D
What is Type 1 Diabetes (T1D)?
Type 1 Diabetes (T1D) is an autoimmune disease where the body’s immune system mistakenly attacks the pancreas, destroying the cells that make insulin. Insulin is an essential hormone—it works like a key, helping move sugar from food out of the bloodstream and into the body’s cells, where it can be used for energy.
Without insulin, sugar builds up in the blood, which can be very dangerous. Because their pancreas no longer makes insulin, people with T1D must replace it every day, either through injections or an insulin pump, and often use continuous glucose monitors (CGMs) to track blood sugar levels.
For someone with T1D, managing insulin isn’t optional—it’s what keeps them alive, every single day, and it’s a constant, round-the-clock responsibility.
Type 1 Diabetes isn’t caused by anything a person did or didn’t do. It can happen to anyone, at any age, and often comes without warning. While there is no cure yet for T1D, it’s important to understand that Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes are two very different conditions. In Type 1, the pancreas no longer makes insulin, while in Type 2, the body still makes insulin but has trouble using it.
The encouraging truth is that with modern tools, technology, and support, children and adults with T1D can live long, active, and healthy lives—learning to manage their condition while still doing everything they love.
