Frequently Asked Questions
Who can participate in T1D Alls Stars events?
Whether you’re a parent interested in joining your child, a volunteer eager to help, or a potential partner, fill out the form below and we’ll be in touch soon.
Do I need to register in advance?
Yes! Space is limited at each event, so we encourage families to register online as soon as possible. Registration is quick, easy, and ALWAYS FREE for Kids & Teens with T1D Ages 6-14.
What if my child has never played the sport before?
A: That’s totally okay! T1D Alls Stars events are designed for ALL experience levels. First-timers are always welcome, and our coaches make sure everyone feels included.
Are parents allowed to stay during events?
Absolutely! Parents must stay. wWhile kids participate in activities and are encouraged, connect with other T1D families in a casual, supportive environment.
How do you handle blood sugar management during activities?
Safety is our top priority. We encourage parents to monitor their child’s blood sugar as needed like they usually would during activities. Coaches are aware of T1D basics, and parents are always nearby to support their child.
What should my child bring to an event?
We recommend packing the essentials to help your child stay comfortable, safe, and ready to play!
Please bring:
- T1D Supplies: All personal diabetes management items such as CGM and pump supplies, insulin and backup insulin pens/syringes, glucose meter and test strips, fast-acting glucose (like glucose tabs or juice boxes), and snacks for low blood sugar.
- Water Bottle: Staying hydrated is key, especially during sports activities.
- Athletic Shoes & Comfortable Clothing: Dress for movement and fun!
A Positive Attitude: Every event is about connection, empowerment, and having a great time – come ready to play and meet new friends!
Are siblings allowed to attend?
While siblings are welcome to come and watch, the activities are specifically designed for kids with Type 1 Diabetes to ensure a supportive and focused environment.
